Full time program – International Relations and Diplomacy
Get qualified knowledge about global, European, and domestic affairs and pursue a career in the diplomatic service or at European and international institutions.
The new “International Relations and Diplomacy” program can be studied in Slovak with a selection of optional courses in English, or entirely in English. The program offers exceptional opportunities for exceptional students with an active interest in global affairs. The program will also feature the participation of the Rector of the Pan-European University and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Slovak Society for Foreign Policy—Dr.h.c. Prof. Ing. Juraj Stern, PhD—in both theoretical instruction and practical experience. Other internationally recognized figures who will contribute to the teaching include Prof. JUDr. Dalibor Jílek, CSc.—a former member of the Council of Europe’s Advisory Committee on the Protection of National Minorities and a member of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance. Students also gain a connection between theory and practice through special lectures by experts from the field, foreign and Slovak statesmen, and professionals working in diplomacy. Upon completion of the “International Relations and Diplomacy” program, students will be equipped with specialized knowledge in the fields of political science, law, economics, and history, as well as language skills. University studies also provide an opportunity to build professional networks, which we facilitate at Pan-European University through internships, professional placements, and collaborations with partners.

At PEU, applications for study are submitted exclusively in electronic form via the UIS academic system. No attachments are uploaded to the e-application, and the process is relatively simple: the applicant enters their personal information, details about their high school, and selects the faculty, program type, and degree level they are applying for. After registering the e-application, the applicant is issued an account number and a variable symbol, which is used to pay the application processing fee of €33. PEU is the only university in Slovakia that has experienced a steady increase in the number of students entering their first year of study.
The basic requirement for admission to a bachelor’s degree program, whether full-time or part-time, is the completion of a full secondary education or a full vocational secondary education.
Applicants for a bachelor’s degree program must submit their application exclusively in electronic form by the specified deadline.
The dean of the faculty may extend the application deadline or set an additional deadline for submitting applications and conduct the subsequent admission process.
Foreign nationals may be admitted to the program in Slovak provided they demonstrate proficiency in the Slovak language at a minimum B2 level. This requirement does not apply to citizens of the Czech Republic or foreign nationals who have passed the high school graduation exam in the Slovak language.

Admission via Transfer
The Dean of the Faculty of Law at Pan-European University may admit an applicant who, at the time of submitting the application, also holds the status of a regular student at another law faculty (school of law) in the Slovak Republic or in a member state of the European Union.
The student must submit a written request for transfer within the deadline specified by the faculty’s/school’s internal regulations. In exceptional cases, the Dean may decide on the transfer request at a later date, but no later than the start of the academic year. Along with the written application for admission to study based on a transfer, the student must submit additional documents prescribed by the internal regulations of the faculty/school. At the same time as submitting the transfer application, the student may request that the dean of the faculty accept exams taken at another law faculty (law school) and place the student in the appropriate academic year—based on accepted exams and credits—in accordance with the internal regulations of the faculty/school.
Procedure for Submitting an Online Application
The Faculty of Law does not accept paper applications; this means that applicants should not print out the e-application from the system! The e-application will be considered complete only if all sections are filled out correctly: Personal Information, Applicant’s Addresses, Application Details. At the same time, the application fee must be paid.
Applications for full-time and part-time study must be submitted separately; the fee is paid separately for each form of study.
The applicant will be informed of the status of their e-application via email:
- email message – regarding the registration of the e-application by the information system,
- email message – confirming receipt of payment – after payment of the admission fee,
- email message – regarding the faculty’s acceptance of the complete e-application (the applicant must receive this message no later than 14 days after the application deadline).

If an applicant requests that the Admissions Office deactivate their paid e-application in the system, the fee will not be refunded.
Every applicant who submits a complete e-application by the deadline and mails the required attachments will be included in the admissions process.
After completing the e-application, the following attachments must be mailed:
- a notarized photocopy of the high school diploma. Applicants who will graduate in 2026 must send a current certificate of high school enrollment (applicants may be admitted conditionally and will be eligible for enrollment upon submission of proof of completion of the required education). Applicants who graduated from high school abroad must attach a high school diploma that has been officially translated and notarized1.
- in the event of a change of surname due to marriage after completing high school, a certified photocopy of the marriage certificate is required
- a structured resume in Slovak or Czech, signed by hand
- proof of payment of the application fee
1 International applicants and applicants who completed secondary school studies or part thereof abroad must apply to the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic for equivalence of their secondary school studies abroad (this does not apply to applicants from the Czech Republic or countries with which the Slovak Republic has concluded an agreement on the mutual recognition of educational documents). The dean decides on admission based on the recommendation of the admissions committee in accordance with the established admission requirements. Applicants will be notified of the admission decision in writing.

Admission requirements are established by the Faculty Academic Senate upon the recommendation of the Dean of the Faculty. Currently, admission is possible without entrance interviews.
